"Secondary Trauma" Presentation

Please join us for a special First Friday Prayer Meeting at St. Peter’s in the Loop (Room C, Lower Level) on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. when we will reflect on the topic of "Secondary Trauma" presented by Judge Susan Kennedy Sullivan and Claire McFarland, Executive Director of Elder Law & Wellness Initiative, NFP.
Secondary traumatic stress shares some symptoms with post-traumatic stress disorder, but it is the product of being indirectly exposed to another’s trauma. According to the American Bar Association, lawyers in practice areas such as criminal, family, and juvenile law are particularly susceptible to secondary traumatic stress, as their work often requires them to listen to victims’ personal stories and review evidence of traumatic events.
