A Responsibility to Change the Game: Professionalism & Civility in the Legal Profession

A Catholic Lawyers Guild CLE Event

The Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago is hosting an upcoming program that will include one hour of CLE credit. The program will be held at Clifford Law Offices located in the Loop.

This program will encourage a thought-provoking discussion on the definition of civility in the legal profession, the challenges and opportunities that lawyers, judges, and law students face in creating a more civil environment, and explain a lawyer’s professionalism obligations in the courtroom, in transactional work, and beyond. 

We will also review recent case law in considering where the lines are drawn/should be drawn between reasonable/professional behavior and inappropriate, offensive conduct, and examine some of the adverse consequences of incivility both to reputation and licensure.

The hour-long program is open to all lawyers and judges. Lunch will be provided from 11:45am-12:00pm. Attendance is limited to 20 guests and pre-event registration is required to attend.
