Faith and Law:  Three Powerhouse Catholic Women Lawyers

Wednesday, March 5, 2025 | 5:00 p.m. CT

Virtual Event via Zoom

Three women lawyers tell the tale of how faith has intertwined with their legal career.  Each has been called to very different work.  Retired Judge, and former CLGC President, Ed Washington will moderate a discussion of how faith led three women lawyers to take three very different career paths.

Sister Cathy Ryan, OSF, who as a religious sister went from heading the States Attorney's Juvenile Division to heading Maryville Academy.

Tanya Woods, who attended law school later in life, now heads the Westside Justice Center, a community based, holistic law office.

Erin O'Connell-Diaz has served as an an Assistant Attorney General, Administrative Law Judge, a Commissioner for the Illinois Commerce Commission, and now runs a woman owned business specializing in utility regulation.

Each lawyer will share how providence guided them along the way, the importance of their faith community in supporting their vocation, and the role prayer plays in their day-to-day lives.  Please join us for this exciting and personal discussion with three legal powerhouses.

This program is free to attend, but donations are welcome if you’re able to contribute. One hour of general CLE credit will be provided to attendees. Registration is required to join the virtual event.
