“Whole, ripe and complete are those who soften what is rigid within, they shall receive strength from all of creation.”
- from ancient Aramaic texts of the words, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
Join us for a powerful and inspiring Lenten Retreat.
Translations bring to light the profound wisdom of the teachings of Jesus found in the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes and the “I am” sayings in the Gospel of John. Selections from these treasured words of Jesus will be considered in new translation, sacred chant and the ancient practice of using our bodies in prayer.
In exploring the ancient Aramaic texts of the Scriptures, until recently accessible only to the scholars of the language Jesus spoke, the familiar and treasured words of Yeshua, a desert dwelling mystic and prophet can now be examined more closely by us. The mantric sound of these sacred words will be experienced through chant and reverent movement within a circle of prayer.
We hope you can join us. Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and retreat materials. Donations are welcome if you are able to do so.
